Mindshare Markets

What is a mindshare market?

A mindshare market is the board: a set of names competing for a share of who matters in crypto. Each position represents a named entity or idea, and its price is its mindshare.

A mindshare board showing United States at 21.1%, China at 16.2%, and Google at 8.1%, with Microsoft, Nvidia, India, the EU, and Russia listed below.

The price

The price of a position represents its mindshare, shown in cents. A position priced at $0.34 shows as 34.0¢: it commands 34% of the board. That number moves with each trade, rising and falling with crowd demand.

Like a prediction market, but for who matters

Just like in a prediction market, the prices of positions come entirely from trading activity. Unlike prediction markets, a PopularityX board never resolves. Positions can be bought or sold indefinitely.

Prices always sum to $1.00

All positions on a board always sum to $1.00. For any name to rise, another has to fall.
